Dr. Field Scovell is the newest member of Lubbock Sports Medicine. A 1992 graduate of Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas he attended Texas Tech University as a walk on football player earning a scholarship after his first year. He continued his education at Tech by attending Medical School. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in 2007.

Dr. John Field Scovell III
Dr. Shephard is an orthopaedic surgeon committed to the reconstruction of arthritic joints. He is focused on the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and all other forms of joint destruction by means of surgical preservation and replacement of affected joints. In a recent effort to focus on providing the most modern treatment options he has completed a fellowship in adult joint reconstruction at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. David Shephard
Holly Short is a Littlefield, TX native and Littlefield HS graduate of 1995. She attended Texas Tech University graduating with her undergrad in 1998 then graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in 2000 from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Holly followed that up by graduating from the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Physician Assistant Master’s Program in December of 2003.
After leaving TTUHSC, Holly worked for Covenant Medical Group for 10 years serving in various departments including Cardiovascular Surgery, Covenant Orthopedics, and Orthopedic Trauma Surgery. She has since started her tenure with Lubbock Sports Medicine since August 2014 and serves as the Physician Assistant to Dr. David Shephard. Holly works closely with Dr. Shephard and is involved in all aspects of patient care including office visits, assisting in surgery, and making patient rounds in the hospital.
Holly and her partner, Rhonda, live in Lubbock and have twins, Alex and Carter. They enjoy family outings with the kids, travelling, and a round of golf when they get the chance.

As an orthopedic surgeon focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques, Dr. Kevin Crawford's expertise includes arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, and elbow with an emphasis on advanced arthroscopic techniques. In 2004, Dr. Crawford was asked to serve as a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Physician and currently holds the position of Medical Director for Texas Tech Athletics.

Dr. Robert Randolph King has been in the practice of medicine in Lubbock, Texas, since 1980. He attended Coronado High School and Texas Tech University. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas, in 1975. His postgraduate residency was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas.
