Summary
Lubbock Sports Medicine is looking for an eager & experienced, full-time X-Ray Technologist. The candidate must be able to provide high-quality patient-focused healthcare services to all patients within the scope of practice through physician orders in accordance with all Texas state laws and regulations and company policies. Currently licensed as an ARRT-(R) MRT- in the state of Texas (TMB). Follows prescribed techniques for producing general and specific X-rays for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision with effective communication and promotion of teamwork.
- Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service.
- Prepare patient for X-Ray, explain the procedure to patient and/or family, and prepare room, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Position the patient and arrange immobilization and support devices for the patient.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patients and medical staff.
- Adjust equipment controls, and determine proper voltage, and exposure time.
- Administer routine x-ray exams
- Observe patient and machine during procedure. Report unusual occurrences and record patient’s condition.
- Document patient chart with procedures performed.
- Clean and disinfect radiology room and equipment, maintain and order supplies for radiology.
- Perform radiology quality assurance tests and maintain records.
- Assist staff with additional clerical duties as necessary.
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to anticipate workflow and perform synchronous tasks.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technology Program.
- Current Texas MRT License in good standing
- 1-2 years of Radiology experience
- Knowledge of specific OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with patients of all ages.
- Ability to assist with specialized procedures involving sterile techniques.
- Continuing education hours are required to keep up license renewal according to state-specific guidelines.
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
- Basic typing and computer proficiency, preferably experienced with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR/EPM systems, etc.
