Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Services Associate to join our dynamic team at a busy orthopedic clinic. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service, managing patient communication, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our front office. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, handling a high volume of incoming calls, emails, faxes and in-person inquiries.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of provider time.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying patient information and updating records as necessary.
- Provide information regarding services, treatments, insurance, and clinic policies.
- Coordinate patient referrals and communicate with other medical facilities as needed.
- Assist with managing patient records, entering data, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Handle patient complaints and issues professionally, ensuring that concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and patient satisfaction.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including filing, faxing, and maintaining office supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and scheduling software.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
